Badger Band Plays with Symphony

Students from Bennington Middle School and Bennington South Middle School had a guest conductor visit their classroom to help the students prepare for their concert with Nebraska Wind Symphony . Dr. Josh Kearney, Director of Bands at University of Nebraska at Omaha and Director of the Nebraska Wind Symphony worked with the students.

It was the first concert of the 47th season of the Nebraska Wind Symphony (NWS) and it is a special collaboration with the students at Bennington Middle School and Bennington South Middle School, directed by Landon Barada, member of the NWS. Mr. Barada and Mr. Ben Coatney (director of bands at Bennington High School) as guest conductors.

The program had a Halloween theme in appreciation of the season! The combined Bennington

Middle and Bennington South Middle school bands performed first. Then the NWS joined the combined Bennington bands to perform. Then the Nebraska Wind Symphony finished the concert with a selection of songs.
